Anthropology Interview skills and Problem Facing.

Yes, I admit that It takes a lot of work to find the accurate results through the interviews, when learning about a culture. Chez Zuo is my class partner, who will be helping me to learn about his experiences and his culture. As it was the first interview, I was prepared for it and as mentioned below I went through all the steps and it was successful. One of the things my partner said that ” I would not mind answers any kind of questions” . And Yes, this way I can learn a lot more about his culture and his experiences about it. It the first interview, it was in a private setting so that in meanwhile we won’t be disturbed. there are problems in this ethnographic research, however I have not faced any problems about interviewing him. Basically,  I would start with the Informed consent paper which gives an anthropologist permission to study on Participant’s culture and and his/ her experiences and views about it. and it is always necessary to tell the participant whether what is going to happen through out the experiment, making sure that there isn’t any harm to participant whether mentally or physically. Informed consent is a permission by the participant who can be observed and so his/her culture.  firstly, there are problems in any kind of interviews and learning about the new culture or ethnicity. Ethnographers  have to completely understand the anthropology methods in order to make an understanding about some different culture and to publish the truth about the culture. simply observation is a part of looking into a culture which includes participant observations and structured observations. Participant observation is where the interviewee plays a role as a participant in the sample group that has been observed or noticed however in structured observation focuses on people’s behavior related to pre-determined topics  of observers, we can say simply observing the people’s behavior on particular issues.  one of the most important thing to keep in mind that interviews are of different kinds and anthropologists must make a decision that which type of interview can be helpful for specific research, these common types are focus group, semi-structured, free listing, questionnaire. Choosing a population and the sample population and so sample from it, this can be done by the methods of sampling such as random sampling, simple random sampling, stratified sampling, snowball, judgment, clustered etc. later on comes the quantitative analysis in which field works, grounded theory are mostly important because this is a stage where you get to a lot more information about a culture. other then this, there are some characteristics that a anthropologist mast have like open minded, ethics, perspectives of different kinds, writing skills, language skills, objectivity. Ethics is considered to be one of the most important part in which anthropologists must be aware of people rights, activities or tasks should not harm participants, the data or research results should not be published in a damaging manner. Lastly, I would say If all the activities are done with ethics, integrity, and applied methods therefore anthropologist can aim to identify and solve social problems with anthropological perspectives and any culture can be learned very effectively.

Thanks to My Partner for helping me, I would be obliged.
